17th Khyber EyeCon Peshawar 2026

The 17th Khyber EyeCon in conjunction with the 17th PVRS Conference was successfully held in Peshawar from 23rd to 25th January 2026, bringing together ophthalmologists from across the country for a rich academic and professional exchange.

The conference featured particularly strong scientific sessions in oculoplasty and orbit, where national experts delivered high-quality lectures, shared complex case experiences, and discussed evolving concepts in orbital disease, eyelid reconstruction, and lacrimal surgery.

Alongside the scientific program, an important election session of the Pakistan Oculoplastic Association was conducted in a transparent and professional manner. Election was contested for the post of President (elect ) between Professor Sofia Iqbal and Dr. Rashid Baig, while the position of Joint Secretary was contested between Dr. Maqsood and Dr. Muhammad Idris Taut. Professor Sofia Iqbal was elected as the president ( elect ) and Dr Idris dawood was elected as the joint secretary Dr. Salman Hamza was elected unopposed as general secretary and Dr. Qirat Qurban was elected unopposed as Finance Secretary of the Association.

The conference also marked the formal announcement of Professor Zeeshan Kamil as the new President of the Pakistan Oculoplastic Association for the 2026–2027 term, ushering in a new leadership phase. Professor Zafar ul Islam who is the first president of POA was awarded distinguished services award by the OSP KPK.

Professor Tajamul Hussain another senior and committed POA member was also the recipient of the prestigious distinguished services award. Overall, the meeting successfully blended academic excellence with organizational milestones, reinforcing the growing strength and unity of the oculoplastic and orbital community in Pakistan.
